Bayou La Batre, AL- The Bayou La Batre Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its presentation of the second annual Bayou La Batre Kayak Classic!
Kayak fishing is a rapidly growing sport in the U.S., offering access to both inshore and near-shore fishing arenas. This water sport, relatively inexpensive and relying on nothing more than human energy for power, is an exciting and challenging approach to one of America’s favorite pastimes!
The tournament will be held on August 1st , 2015 along the coastline of Bayou La Batre and the Gulf of Mexico. The competition begins with a shotgun start at 6am, at the Bayou La Batre City Docks. Festivities will continue throughout the day featuring fresh local seafood, cold drinks, live music, and weigh-in starts at 10am!
Anglers will compete for over 33 different awards, which include both Master and Junior Angler division titles. Junior anglers may fish from pier, land, and kayaks. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place adult anglers will receive plaques, and junior anglers will receive trophies! There will even be a kayak giveaway!

Tickets are priced at only $30 for Adult Anglers, $20 for Junior Anglers, and a Discount Combo of $50 includes entry to the tournament as well as the Taste of the Bayou seafood festival to be held on September 29th!
